Tara Daynes

I have worked with a variety of industries, but now focus on Non-Profit organisations - my clients include voluntary organisations, animal, disability, childrens' and other charities, care services, education and training providers, housing associations, creative arts organisations and community enterprises.

I particularly specialise in start-up HR functions, including writing all required staffing policies and procedures and staff handbooks, and providing training for line management and staff on key issues.

I am also experienced in helping organisations achieve Investors In People status through creation and implementation of initiatives and strategies designed to improve the performance of the organisation through its people management practices.

I have a collaborative and empathetic approach, and aim to work with organisations and line managers to make them as self-sufficient as possible in the area of people management. My aim is to help not-for-profit companies meet both their legal obligations and their organisational objectives through recruiting, retaining and developing high quality staff who are engaged and committed, and feel valued and motivated by their employer’s investment in them.

While my personal style is relaxed and informal, I have high standards of professional integrity and technical proficiency. I am a speaker and presenter and regularly deliver free seminars for City Business Library and other places, and am a regular contributor to various websites such as KnowHow NonProfit. I have also been featured in the media, including press commentary, radio interviews and a BBC documentary, as an HR expert.
